Active Together Leicester-Shire and Rutland has announced details of the launch of Move More 4 Less Week which provides a week of fun activities to get people out and active.
The initiative, which runs from Monday 25th until Sunday 31st January 2010, includes a variety of different sessions that are available across Leicestershire and Rutland. Available activities include conventional sports like badminton, squash, and football, and more varied past-times like street dance, pilates, tai chi, boxercise and indoor bowls.
So why not start the new decade with a bang and take up a new sport, revisit an old hobby or just get yourself more active for 2010?
By using a special voucher most sessions cost just £1 during the week. Vouchers can be found in the Move More 4 Less Week brochure at local outlets or by downloading the brochure at www.lrsport.org.uk/active.
Free health checks are also available across the region. The checks include height and weight measurements, body mass index calculation, body fat percentage measurement, blood pressure, resting heart rate, cholesterol testing and lifestyle advice.
To feel the benefits of physical activity you should try to achieve 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity on five or more days of the week.
