The LOROS One Big Bike Ride event is back this year and will take place at Rutland Water on Sunday 16th May 2010. It is hoped that hundreds of cyclists will come out in force and gain sponsorship to raise much needed funds for the provision of palliative care to terminally-ill patients from of Leicestershire and Rutland.

Over £8,000 was raised in the event’s first year and this time round LOROS are asking people to get back on their bikes and join one of the three rides that start and finish at Rutland Water’s Whitwell car park.

Riders of all ages and abilities can choose between a 7, 18 or 25 mile off road leisure cycle ride. The 18 and 25 miles route start at 9.30am and the 7 mile starts at 10.30am.

Special one off reusable goodie bags will be provided on the day with bananas and water. Entertainment will include Cyclemagic’s penny farthing bike and medals will be awarded by special guest Freddy Fyffe. Prizes will also be awarded to participants in fancy dress.

Remember to ensure your sponsors are aware of Gift Aid, as for every pound donated LOROS can claim 28p extra from the Government, at no extra cost.
