Standing 6ft 10’ tall, Jefferson will certainly provide a different viewpoint on all things LCCC. He will keep you up to date with the latest cricket news and what he’s been up to away from the wicket.

Will is delighted to link up with Soar and is looking forward to writing his first blog.

He said: “It’s great to have signed for Leicestershire and I can’t wait to start my career with the county. After living and playing at nearby Nottinghamshire, I know what a sports-mad county this is.

“I’ve read Soar Magazine and seen their other bloggers and it’s a great platform for celebrating Leicestershire sport. I’m looking forward to putting my views on the site and I hope that everyone will enjoy it.”

The 30-year-old batsman joined Leicestershire for the start of the 2010 season after spending three years at Nottinghamshire.

Will started his career at Essex, scoring 815 first-class runs in his first full season. His best season to date was in 2004, when he scored 1555 first-class runs at an average of 55.53, with six centuries.

Will has also represented England Lions and is looking forward to starting the campaign with a fresh challenge.

Dean Eldredge, Soar Media’s Communications Executive, is pleased to welcome Will to the magazine’s growing stable of contributors.

“We have always been really passionate about cricket and are delighted to have agreed this link up with Leicestershire and Will.

“It promises to be an exciting season for the county, with Matthew Hoggard installed as captain, talented youngsters like James Taylor coming to prominence and a promotion challenge on the cards.

“We’re looking forward to getting Will’s insight into all of that as well as the latest news and developments at Grace Road.”

Leicestershire CCC Press Officer Daniel Nice is also pleased with the club’s link with Soar Media.

He said: “Soar Media do super work in promoting sport and lifestyle in Leicestershire and it will be great for us to work closely together this season and in the future.

“Having seen an excellent feature on Leicester Ladies Hockey Team in the Spring edition and having previously read good pieces on Leicester City and Leicester Tigers, we are delighted to be part of the sport coverage.

“There is also a nice balance between sport and lifestyle with features on Leicester’s top music stars Kasabian and Jersey Budd. There is a real emphasis on community, so it is exciting to be able to provide content for the readers.

“Will’s blogs will provide everyone with an insight into the life of a professional cricketer. I know he’s looking forward to the new season and contributing to the website and we hope that you enjoy his views.”

Leicestershire’s first pre-season friendly takes place at Grace Road on Thursday April 1st against Warwickshire.
