Leicester City have signed a highly lucrative three-year kit deal with International Sportswear Manufacturer BURRDA. The Swiss company will supply home and away kits and also produce official training gear for the first team squad, the Youth Academy and supporters.
The kit deal is the biggest in Leicester City’s history and becomes BURRDA’s third UK football contract of the summer. The Swiss company already boasts an impressive portfolio of international sports clubs and provides kits for the Belgium, Kuwait and Qatar national teams.
Leicester City’s Chief Executive, Lee Hoos, has been impressed by the company’s reputation.
“We are delighted to welcome BURRDA as the official kit suppliers to Leicester City. Today’s announcement marks the start of the most significant kit deal in the Club’s history.
“BURRDA are currently new to football in this country but they have an excellent reputation for quality and service, supported by a strong international track record across a number of different sports.”
BURRDA’s General Manager, Charles Diab, is delighted with the deal.
“Next season is our first in the UK football market and it was vital for us to launch with the right kind of partner and Leicester City is just that. They are a club with an unbelievable history, steeped in tradition with a wonderful fan base.
“In our search for clubs in the UK, Leicester City matched our requirements in every aspect and we are looking forward to a long and successful relationship. We are extremely excited about the prospect of working with the club to help them in their aim to return to the Premier League.”
The club have confirmed that the fundamental design of the home kit will remain the same as last season, with the addition of a new badge to replace the special 125 Anniversary emblem. There will also be a change of brand to signify BURRDA’s link up with the club.
A limited number of City’s kits for the 2010/2011 campaign, including the new all yellow away kit (pictured), will include the option for supporters to include a small national flag on the reverse of the shirt, will be available online at lcfc.com from 9am on Thursday July 15th and in store from 8am on Saturday July 17th.
Season Ticket Holders will also have the opportunity to secure an exclusive 20% discount on all replica kit purchases made before close of business on August 31st.
City have confirmed that they are close to securing a new shirt sponsor for the season. Fans who purchase their shirts in the next two weeks will have the option to apply the sponsor, by bringing their shirts into the City Megastore early next month.
