It’s a Kind of Magic

Ahead of next month’s charity concert at Mallory Park, featuring the UK’s Official No1 Queen Tribute band, The Bohemians, event organiser Rob Bryant recently gathered local celebrities and friends at the Leicestershire race-track to preview the gig.

Following another amazingly successful open-air concert last year, which raised thousands of pounds for charity, another show will be held at Mallory Park on Saturday August 6th, where The Bohemians will be supported by the ACM Gospel Choir to raise money for Spinal Research in association with Oak FM.

Pictured above from left to right are Dave Carter from the JAM Rock Music School, which includes children aged between 9 and 13-years-old performing a one hour set at the show, Mark Rowley from Oak FM – who will be doing a live broadcast on the night, John Ward from Mallory Park – who allowed free use of the circuit and it’s facilities for the concert, Steve Parrish – a former professional motorcycle racer who now presents for BBCSkyEurosport and Motors TV, ‘King’ Kenny Roberts, a former motorcycle World Champion, Phil Read MBE – an 8-time World Motorcycling Champion, Leicester City legend Matt Elliott and event organiser Rob Bryant.

The Bohemians, established in 1996, re-enact the glory days of Queen, including the craziness of the 70’s and the magic of the 80′s. Proving themselves to be the most dynamic and exciting Queen tribute band currently touring, performing all over the UK, Europe and the world at football stadiums, festivals, theatres and other prestigious venues.

The high-energy two-hour performance with concert staging, lighting, backdrops and pyrotechnics promises Queen fans of all ages a truly fantastic show.

Event Organiser, Rob Bryant, 45, from nearby Kirkby Mallory and himself a victim of spinal cord injury suffered in a motorcycle accident, said, “If you like Queen, you’ll love The Bohemians. They’re so close to the real thing, and put on a fantastic performance. The new show with the ACM Gospel Choir is truly spectacular. Everyone’s guaranteed a brilliant night, and with tickets already selling fast, we’re hoping to make another notable donation to the charity.”

Former motorcycle World Champion, Kenny Roberts, said: “What this guy is doing is fantastic. Regretfully, I’ve met far too many good guys like Rob that have suffered in bike accidents. I sincerely hope the show is a massive success. It’s a shame I’m in the States, I love Queen.”

Phil Read MBE, added: “After meeting Rob, I said to Kenny Roberts, ‘there but for the grace of God goes you or I’. This is going to be one heck of a night, Mallory Park’s going to be rocking all-over again, and what a great cause.”

Matt Elliott said: “Rob’s a former neighbour and a good friend of mine, his hard work putting on these shows deserves a good turn-out. I’ve got my tickets already so I’ll certainly be there, it’ll be a great night and I hope to see plenty of support.”

With previous shows proving very popular, interest in this event is expected to be extremely high. Tickets cost just £15 per person with children under 12 FREE (maximum 2 children per adult), all proceeds going to Spinal Research www.spinal-research.org

Advance Tickets ONLY can be purchased by phone on 01455 842931. You can buy Online at www.mallorypark.co.uk or visit the Mallory Park Ticket Office.
