Celebrations erupted around the county on Saturday evening, as Leicestershire emerged winners of the FL t20 title, following an incredible finals day at Edgbaston.
Josh Cobb claimed four wickets as Leicestershire finished with an eighteen run victory, leaving final opponents Somerset falling to their third consecutive domestic t20 final defeat.
The day was arguably more special for veteran wicket keeper Paul Nixon, who celebrated his final competitive game on English soil by winning a major trophy. The 40-year-old will face India over two one-day games, before taking up a coaching role with the Foxes at the end of the season.
The win for Leicestershire was the first domestic Twenty20 trophy they have claimed since 2006, where they defeated Nottinghamshire in the final at Trent Bridge.
